Then, Jesus said, "All that is written in the Law and the Prophets is summed up in these two commandments". They not only make sense, but they become a source of comfort and hope for us, because the Old Testament is ultimately a revelation of Jesus Christ to His people. In this impact course we are going to study the Sermon on the Mount. Although the Sermon on the Mount is probably one of the most famous portions of scripture, it is also on of the most misunderstood. Some maintain that in this sermon Jesus was giving us a code of ethics by which all men should live. Others say that Jesus was describing what life will be like in the kingdom He will establish on earth as His Second Coming and it does not apply to us today. And, parts of the sermon look as though Jesus was giving us a new set of very strange rules: If someone hits you, let them hit you again. You can't take an oath in a court of law. If you call someone a fool, you'll go to hell, etc. By looking at the historical, religious, and cultural background of the Sermon on the Mount we will find out what Jesus had in mind when He taught this sermon. It is when we understand why Jesus taught this message and what He was trying to accomplish through His words that we will receive the full
ST839 - Holy Passion

In this impact course we are going to study identification. Although the term identification is not familiar to many Christians, understanding of the subject itself is vital to victorious Christian living. Identification refers to our complete union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. If that statement doesn't make you want to stand up and cheer, you need this course. You see, we weren't there when Jesus was crucified, died, buried, and raised from the dead, but what happened there affects us as though we were there. That's identification. Our identification with Christ at the Cross and His identification with us is the basis of all that we are and have as Christians. In this course we will explain what identification is, with the goal of helping us walk in the reality of it. Understanding identification will help us be and do all that God intends for us to be and do in this life.
ST851 - Becoming Like Jesus
The Bible is the story of God's desire for a family and the lengths to which He went to obtain that family. Before God ever formed the earth He planned that we would be made son of God and be conformed to the image of Christ (Eph 1:4,5; Rom 8:29). Jesus is the pattern for God's family. In this course we are going to talk about becoming like Jesus. We will consider what that means. We will look at what Jesus is like, as well as at the process by which we are made like Jesus. With that knowledge we can cooperate with god more effectively as He conforms us to the image of Christ (II Cor 3:18).
